Origins | Never A Dull Moment Facial Cleanser

Having used up my Origins 'Checks and Balances' facial cleanser (which I am in love with), I was in two minds whether or not to just re-purchase it or whether to try something new. I was eager to try another one of Origins increasingly popular products so I decided to go with it. Besides it was something else I could review for you, my glam readers. *wink*

I didn't have much time because it was my lunch break (and I wanted to pick up a grande, soya cappuccino from a certain somewhere) so I quickly read the descriptions on the packaging to choose which one I would purchase.

With each passing year the skin's ability to do its own daily slough of surface stuff slows down. Skin can look mighty drab and dreary. So Origins blended extract of crushed Papaya with creamy cleansers to create a lush-lathering, fruit-smoothie of a face wash. Simply swirl Never A Dull Moment cleanser over splashed-moist skin and watch how swiftly it disposes of dingy, dried up cells, makeup, dirt and debris to totally banish bleakness. Skin emerges with a fresh, radiant sheen. Feels sleek and silky-smooth, never stripped-dry.

It sounded like just the ticket, the seasonal changes etc etc, but unfortunately this cleanser didn't really do it for me. The main issue being that I can't stand the fragrance. It's actually is so overpoweringly strong and its just not a refreshing citrus smell like they promised me on the front. So, I thought to myself, is there a chance I may get used to the smell and that the cleansing power will win me over? Its been a few weeks now and I haven't gotten used to the smell. It doesn't lather up very well either and I end up using a lot more of the product in trying to achieve the same results that their 'Checks and Balances' cleanser gave me. I have scoured the net and I seem to be in a small minority of people that dislike the smell and those people all seem to have previously fallen in love with 'C and B', they also mention that it doesn't lather up very well. Hmmm. Obviously there are loads of you out there that do love the fragrance and rave about this product but just be sure about the smell before you jump in and make a purchase. Maybe squeeze a little out onto your hand before you buy it or something because personally I thought it smelt a lot nicer in the tube. Definitely won't be repurchasing.

I'm sorry this has been a negative review, to be honest I generally don't find many products that I dislike but thought that it was worth telling you what I thought.

  1. Oh no what a shame it didn't perform like you'd hoped! I don't like heavily scented products so this is something that I just wouldn't risk purchasing myself xx

    1. Yes, it's very strong and overpowering. Although I think a lot of Origins products are heavily perfumed. Thanks for your comment chick! xoxo

  2. I've always loved the look of Origins products but haven't been able to convince myself to buy one. Especially like the look of the charcoal mask, absolutely gorgeous and I've heard such good things!xx
